About Me - Reflect

Concept:
This project is inspired by my spontaneous approach to life—I often act on impulse, whether it’s travelling, exercising, or simply making everyday decisions. I wondered, what if I could capture this spontaneity in the form of light? The result is a lighting piece that moves unpredictably, much like my own unplanned moments, casting ever-changing colours and reflections.

Objective:

  • Create a lighting installation that embodies spontaneity, movement, and fluidity.

  • Incorporate sustainability by repurposing plastic coffee cup lids, colouring them with vibrant markers to give them new life.

  • Design the structure in the form of a baby mobile, as mobiles are known for their calming and soothing effect.

  • Explore digital art through the dynamic interplay of shifting light and colour.

Process:

  • Experimenting with materials to find an eco-friendly and visually intriguing approach.

  • Constructing a mobile-inspired lighting piece that moves freely, creating an ever-changing visual experience.

  • Capturing the interaction of light and movement to produce digital art.

Outcome:

A mesmerising lighting installation that reflects the beauty of spontaneity—both in its unpredictable motion and in the way it transforms its surroundings with shifting hues. The piece not only embodies sustainability and creativity but also serves as a reminder of the joy found in embracing the unplanned moments of life.
